Flexibility & Real-time Booking
Unlike some competitors that focus more on long-term solutions (WeWork, Regus), FlexiDesk should prioritise instant bookings and short-term, flexible workspace options tailored to startups and freelancers.
User-centric Design
By combining a clean, minimalistic layout (like myHQ) with sophisticated features (similar to WeWork), FlexiDesk can offer a polished, user-friendly experience that caters to fast-growing teams.
Customisable Workspaces
Unlike most competitors, FlexiDesk can allow users to book customisable workspaces (e.g., private offices, meeting rooms, hybrid spaces) in a few steps.
Tech-Enabled Featured
Implementing features like real-time availability checking and smart filters for specific workspace needs (e.g., privacy, amenities) will differentiate FlexiDesk from Competitors.

One of the biggest challenges I encountered during this project was ensuring that the app was feature-rich without overwhelming users. Given that FlexiDesk caters to a wide variety of users—ranging from freelancers to corporate employees—striking the right balance between functionality and simplicity was crucial.
To address this, I adopted a minimalist design approach and focused on prioritising essential features while keeping secondary actions tucked away behind menus. For example, the space-finding flow is front and centre on the home screen, while other options such as managing favourites or editing profile details are found in less prominent locations. This keeps the app from feeling cluttered but ensures that users can easily find what they need.
Another challenge was ensuring the app’s flexibility. Since co-working spaces vary widely in terms of offerings, the app needed to accommodate different types of spaces and booking models. I achieved this by creating adaptable UI components and a flexible information architecture that can be expanded in the future.

FlexiDesk’s design has a clear impact on both users and the business. For users, the app simplifies the process of finding, booking, and managing co-working spaces, making it an essential tool for individuals who work remotely or need flexible working environments. The intuitive, aesthetically pleasing design ensures that users spend less time booking and more time focusing on their work.
From a business perspective, FlexiDesk’s personalised notifications and loyalty features encourage user retention and repeat bookings. Additionally, the app’s clear navigation and customisable filters give users confidence in their choices, leading to higher satisfaction and increased engagement.
The impact of the design is twofold: it creates a delightful user experience while also driving business goals by encouraging repeat usage and brand loyalty.
